About

Matej Koren is Graphic Designer. He studied Fine Art in Maribor and continued his education at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 2003. In 2005 he worked at Stefan Sagmeister’s studio in New York, which is of the most influential designer studios in the world. Matej Koren has been awarded the Brumen award, which is the most prestigious designers’ award in Slovenia, and has also been a regular receiver of high quality recommendations at various Biennials of Slovene Visual Communications. His team specialize in art direction and design for music, books, brand identity and editorial.

Matej is a co-founder of Kiddog, a group of graphic designers and illustrators who in past years in Slovenia organised guest performances and workshops of world stars of graphic design (among others The Designers Republic, David Carson, David Foldvari, Stefan Sagmeister etc.) which are finally established as a group of authors.

He has worked as Creative Director in advertising agency Mediamix. Agency works were awarded on advertising festivals such as London International Advertising Awards, Cannes Advertising Festival, Golden Drum, Epica, Slovenian Advertising Festival, Magdalena Young Creatives Festival, Ad.Print festival, Golden Mirror, SEMPL, Memefest, Montreux, Eurobest …

  • 2001 – Finalist of 4th Magdalena festival.
  • 2002 – Organized and participated on David Carson Workshop in Mariboru.
  • 2003 – Organized and participated on Bojan Hadzihalilovič Workshop in Maribor.
